हर दिन एक ही ढर्रे के बीच झूलती जिंदगी से जब मन ऊबने लगता है तो महापंडित राहुल सांकृत्यायन के यात्रा वृतांत 'अथातो घुम्मकड़ जिज्ञासा' पाठ में पढ़ी पंक्तियाँ याद आ जाती हैं-

''सैर कर दुनिया की गाफिल, जिंदगानी फिर कहाँ,

जिंदगानी गर रही तो, नौजवानी फिर कहाँ"

ये पंक्तियां मुझे भी कुछ सुकूं भरे पल तलाशने के लिए उकसाती रहती है। ऐसी ही एक कोशिश मेरी पिछले माह काठमांडू की यात्रा की रही। जिंदगी फिर उसी ढर्रे पर लौट आई है। इस यात्रा को याद कर ढर्रे से थोड़ा दूर जाना चाहती हूँ।

बचपन में जब गाँव की पहाड़ी घाटियों के ऊपर से तेज गड़गड़ाहट के साथ आसमान में कोई हवाई जहाज अपनी ओर ध्यान खींचता था तो बालमन उसके साथ ही उड़ान भरने लगता था । उस समय हवाई जहाज देखना भी किसी रोमांच से कम नहीं था, उसमें सफ़र करने की बात तो कोसों दूर थी । सच तो यह कि यह किसी सुनहरे सपने से कम नहीं था । भोपाल से दिल्ली की हवाई यात्रा तो २-४ बार गाहे बगाहे हो ही गयी थी, लेकिन विदेश यात्रा का संयोग अब जाकर बना था, इसलिए बहुत रोमांचित थी । हवाई जहाज से पहाड़ों के खूबसूरत नज़ारे देखने में कहीं चूक न हो इसलिए पहले ही खिड़की वाली सीट रिजर्व करा ली ।

दिल्ली से जब सुबह हवाई उड़ान भरी तो कुछ ही पलों में मैंने अपने को खूबसूरत ऊँची-नीची, सपाट, घनी पर्वत श्रंखलाओं के ऊपर पाया । पहाड़ों में सूरज की किरणों से बादल और बर्फ को चांदी सा चमकता देख मैं बरबस ही पहाड़ी लोकगीत याद आने लगा, जिसे गुनगुनाये बिना नहीं रह सकी ....

यूँ ही गुनगुनाते और प्राकृतिक नज़ारों में डूबकर कब यात्रा पूरी करके हम अपनी मंजिल काठमांडू पहुँच गए, पता ही नहीं चला । चारों ओर खूबसूरत ऊँची-नीची पहाड़ियों के पीछे हिमालय की स्वर्णिम आभा देखते ही बन रही थी । काठमांडू पहुंचकर सबसे पहले हम टैक्सी से पशुपतिनाथ जी के दर्शन को निकल पड़े । बमुश्किल से ५ किमी की दूरी बहुत भीड़-भाड़ वाली धीरे-धीरे सरकती संकरी सड़क के कारण बहुत लम्बी जान पड़ी। बाबजूद इसके बिना सिग्नल के यातायात को नियंत्रित करते ट्रेफ़िक पुलिस वालों की मुस्तैदी और वाहन चालकों का ट्रेफिक नियम का पालन करना मुझे बहुत अच्छा लगा। सोचती हूँ काश ऐसा हमारे यहाँ भी संभव हो पाता! खैर .. ऐतिहासिक भव्य भगवान पशुपतिनाथ मंदिर के दर्शन कर मन ख़ुशी से झूम उठा । इससे पहले इतने भव्य मंदिर के दर्शन कभी नहीं हुए थे। यहाँ आकर जाना कि इस मंदिर में केवल हिन्दुओं को प्रवेश की अनुमति है। मंदिर दर्शन के उपरांत मंदिर के ठीक पीछे बागमती नदी जिसे मोक्षदायिनी भी माना जाता है, में जीवन की अंतिम लीलाओं की गतिविधियाँ में व्यस्त लोगों को देख नश्वर जीवन के भी दर्शन हुए, जो शांत बहती बागमती नदी की तरह मन में बहुत देर तक अन्दर ही अन्दर उथल-पुथल मचाती रही।

काठमांडू को करीब देखने के लालसा के चलते हम भीमसेन टॉवर जो कि ९ मंजिला टावर है, की ११३ सर्पिल सीढ़ियों पर कदमताल कर टॉवर पर जा पहुचे, जहाँ पहुंचकर काठमांडू शहर का खूबसूरत नज़ारा देख सारी थकान जाती रही । यहाँ से चलकर बेजोड़ ऐतिहासिक वास्तुकला का नमूना काठमांडू दरबार को देखना, समझना किसी आश्चर्य से कम न था. यहाँ सबसे अच्छा स्थान मुझे हनुमान ढोका लगा ।

शहर के पश्चिमी दिशा में पहाड़ी में अति प्राचीन पवित्र बौद्ध तीर्थ स्थल का दर्शन कर मन को बहुत शांति मिली। यहाँ शांति से दर्शन करते लोगों के बीच बंदरों की उछल-कूद और मस्ती देखने लायक थी । इसके पश्चात् काठमांडू से लगभग १३-१४ किमी दूर पारंपरिक कला और वास्तुकला, ऐतिहासिक स्मारकों और शिल्प कृतियों, शानदार खिड़कियां, मिट्टी के बर्तनों और बुनाई उद्योगों, उत्कृष्ट मंदिरों, सुंदर तालाबों, अमीर स्थानीय रीति-रिवाजों, संस्कृति, धर्म, त्यौहार के प्रतीक भक्तपुर दरबार को देखना किसी सुखद आश्चर्य से कम न था, यहाँ से महज ३-४ कि.मी. दूर सांगा गाँव की पहाड़ी पर विश्व की सबसे ऊँची 143 फीट ऊँची अपने आराध्य देव भगवान शिव की मूर्ति के दर्शन कर मेरा मन शिवमय हो उठा।

काठमांडू शहर के आस-पास के इलाके छानने के बाद हम काठमांडू से २०० किमी की लम्बी बस यात्रा उपरांत प्राकृतिक खूबसूरती के लिए मशहूर पोखरा जा पहुंचे। सुन्दर अवर्णनीय प्राकृतिक दृश्यों में डूबकर लगा काश समय यहीं थम जाता और यहीं अपनी एक निश्चिंत दुनिया होती! लेकिन समय किसी के लिए कहाँ रुकता है। अब तो फिर जिंदगी उसी ढर्रे पर फिर चल पड़ी है, घर-दफ्तर के काम से फुर्सत नहीं ऊपर से शीत का प्रकोप बढ चला है और बर्फबारी से भरी पहाड़ियों से आती ठंडी हवाएं दिल-दिमाग को सुन्न किये जा रही है, बावजूद इसके यह सोचकर कभी-कभी मन खुश हो लेता है कि शायद यही वह जाड़े का सही समय है जब हम भी वातानुकूलित कमरों का सुख, मंद धूप की सुहानी उष्णता का आनंद उठा सकते हैं।
